Nebula Haze & Sirius Fourside (founders of
GrowWeedEasy.com) "Inside every seed is the potential for an incredible harvest." ~Farrah Gray Introduction: Cannabis Seed Germination Cannabis germination is the process of getting your seeds to sprout, and you know sprouting has occurred when a little white tendril pops out of the seed. The little white tendril that emerges from a cannabis seed during germination is your plant’s first root, known as a “taproot.” All other roots
made by your cannabis plant in its lifetime will sprout from the taproot. Germinated cannabis seeds with taproots The taproot is both the first root and the main stem. It will get longer and longer, with the taproot side burrowing down, and the other side pushing the seed up through the surface of your growing medium. The shell cracks opens and the first leaves (these first round leaves are known as “cotyledons”) emerge from inside the cannabis seed. The cotyledon leaves are already
fully formed in the seed, so the cannabis seedling doesn’t have to grow them. In fact, the emerging first leaves are what break apart the shell after it’s cracked open by the taproot, as pictured here. The next set of leaves after the cotyledons are your plants first “true” leaves and will have jagged edges (serrations). These new leaves were grown by your cannabis seedling all on its own. Now you’re going!

"I love you all!!! Great reads. Great info. Keep it going❤️🗞️🍀 From Maine" ~Michelle Hey Michelle, I used to spend every summer in Maine and it is beautiful and wild. I was proud in 2016 to hear that Maine legalized weed. It now has a thriving market. In fact, some of the best new strains in the US are being bred in Maine! It's becoming the Humboldt of the east. ~Nebula

Your info on when to harvest, drying down and curing have been invaluable to my efforts - thanks so much for facilitating the untold riches in my basement
❤️" ~Deb Hey Deb, Thank you :) It is an incredible feeling to harvest your own weed and hold it in your hands. Especially when weed has been hard to get due to prohibition. I remember that feeling vividly. I hope you send us pictures of your
basement riches! ~Nebula Haze "My Sunday morning wouldn’t be complete without your newsletter and knowledge. TY crew" ~James Hey James, thanks for writing in! I try to make enjoyable newsletters and you made my day with this message. ~Nebula "BTW I love your site!!! Always my go to when I need reassurance or information! Thank you!!!!" ~No name given Hello mystery person, thank you! I also go back to the website

"Amnesia Haze feminized at week 11. For half of July in all of August, she spent every day outdoors in the sunlight, and then in the tent in the evenings until she got too difficult to walk down the hallway without rubbing the walls." ~Kelsonofitch I love the mental image of a plant getting so big it rubs on the walls.Your buds look excellent! They are long and well-formed, yet the
white hairs haven't started darkening and curling in yet. These buds are going to be huge at harvest time! Haze plants take a bit longer in the flowering stage than some other strains, but they reward you with eye-popping yields and unique effects. ~Nebula Haze
|
"White Widow with 2 branches that went half albino!!??" ~Samba This may look like a nutrient deficiency (especially an iron deficiency), but I believe what's happening here is a phenomenon known as "variegation" (Wikipedia link). I think that because there is
so much green healthy growth with no signs of deficiencies, there are two-tone leaves (which aren't normally caused by a deficiency), and the albino parts are so uniform with no green on the ends of the leaves like with an iron deficiency. Variegation that looks like this is often just a visual mutation, and tends to affect just a branch or certain branches of the plant. If you don't see any other symptoms, it's just
some natural variation to enjoy. ~Nebula Haze
Scam Alert: No, you did not win the Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes
|
|
If you get a call, email, or letter saying you won the Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes, it's a scam!
|
"Cash this $7,890 check, send it off for taxes, and we'll deliver your $2.1 million prize!" Don't fall for it! Apparently this scam has been going on for years and keeps popping up over and over. The way the scam works is the scammer will send you a check for a few thousand dollars to cash to pay for legal fees, taxes and processing charges
for your "prize". They ask you to send off that money to the government and then they'll send you the prize money. However, if you deposit that check and send the money away, a few days later you'd learn the check bounced and you're out thousands of dollars. According to PCH about this all-to-common scam: "No. 1, we never notify our winners with a phone call. No. 2, we don't send friend requests or private messages to our winners on Facebook. No. 3, most importantly,
you never have to pay anything to claim your PCH prize." P.S. The cannabis industry has all kinds of scams, especially when it comes to buying seeds. Remember... Real seed businesses don't contact you. They let you contact them. If anyone messages you to sell you seeds on social media, look out! It's possible they will take your payment and send nothing. Always take a second to
think before sending money to anyone, especially if they contact you (whether by DM, text message, phone call, email, etc.). Recommended Cannabis Seed Sources
These sources have gotten great reviews from our readers:
- Seed Supreme – California, United States
- ILGM (I Love Growing Marijuana) – California, United States
- Herbies Seeds – Europe (seemingly out of the UK and Spain)

Sirius Fourside is a hobbyist grower who has gained the bulk of his experience growing in water as a medium (deep water culture, bubbleponics).
"Growing cannabis can be a relaxing hobby in and of itself, but it also saves you money and keeps you from having to deal with shady characters. Cannabis is much easier to grow than people give it credit for, and growing in water doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
