Why Beginners Should Grow Auto-Flowering Strains 🌱😴🌳🤯

What’s So Special About Auto-flowering Cannabis Strains? Have you ever heard of “autoflowering” strains of cannabis? What are the best autoflowering strains for beginners? How are auto-flowering strains different from traditional (photoperiod) strains, and what makes them easier to grow for beginners? Get the answers in today’s beginner autoflowering tutorial!
Here are several
different autoflowering strains growing together. Learn today why autos are great for beginners! Why Auto-Flowering Cannabis Plants Are Great for Beginners - Automatically start making buds just a few weeks after they sprout – This is why they’re called “auto-flowering” strains. Traditional photoperiod strains grown indoors need to be manually forced to start making buds by altering light periods to give long nights (why they’re
called “photoperiod” strains).
- Autoflowering plants stay a manageable size – Most auto-flowering cannabis strains stay under hip height and will not grow into huge monsters that unexpectedly take over a closet or become taller than your fence. Although some auto-flowering strains can get pretty big, any strains with the tendency to grow extra-large are typically labeled as such by the breeder.
- Ready to harvest in 3 months or less – While
traditional grows take 3-5 months from seed to harvest on average, auto-flowering plants are typically ready to harvest in 3 months or less from when they first sprout. A lot of growers prefer a quicker harvest.
- Can be grown outdoors in most climates...

Auto-flowering strains have astounded the world with their fast and easy growth, and they also offer some major benefits for outdoor marijuana grower. Auto-flowering strains let you time your harvest so buds ripen in late summer, causing them to get
bigger and be more potent than if they’d finished later in the fall. Late summer harvests help make big, potent buds.

Benefits of Auto-Flowering Strains for Outdoor Cannabis Growers - Faster harvest – Auto-flowering cannabis plants are ready to harvest faster than photoperiod strains, especially outdoors.
- Control harvest time – No need to worry about a rainy season. Gain the ability to
ensure buds ripen in late summer so they get bigger and more potent than if they ripened in the fall.

"Dear Nebula and Sirius, I stumbled across GrowWeedEasy.com while googling for LED grow light reviews. I’ve done a lot of searching on gardening topics and I can’t believe that I only just now found your
website. I noticed links in the LED article and started reading more. Then I went to the home page and started reading “from the top”. I really appreciate that your writing is based on actual experience. I am really impressed with the depth and breadth of the articles. The tone of your writing makes everything feel more accessible as if I were listening to a good friend talking about something they love to do. I’ve only recently started
gardening. Last year was my first time gardening; I had a small plot outdoors. I’m eager to try some indoor growing for year round hobby/activity. Again, I really enjoy reading the articles on your website… bookmarked and flagged “Favorite”! ~Moöbius P.S. I love astronomy." We like to think of ourselves as friends of growers, so, in a way, you are listening to friends talk about
something they love to do. In fact, I'm germinating some seeds today! ~Sirius

"Good morning, it’s one of your friends from down under. I was wondering of you know about a machine - Bud
Leaf Bowl Trimmer machine with twisted sharp stainless steel spin cut & upgraded gears? A mate told me about it and says it works a treat, so I have ordered one and should have it very soon. Just thought you might want to know about it. Thinking it should save a lot of time. Thank you - absolutely love your site." ~Dallas I've used a generic brand of one of those bowl trimmers and they actually did a pretty good job. The trimmers don't give as close as a shave as hand trimming, but for the amount of time it saves, it was worth it to me.
~Sirius "I just want to thank you and 4sides for all the data you have amassed on cannabis. You have been my ‘go to’ for years. Keep it up 👍" ~Gary
I love all the variations of my name I've read over the years. For anyone curious (absolutely no one), Fourside is a fictional city in a old Super Nintendo game called Earthbound. Here's a pic: Fourside ~Sirius

"White Widow strain, I have to grow indoors, but that's OK I can grow year-round. My wife isn't happy I use her laundry room in the winter, and my garage in the summertime." ~stogie26A It looks like you have to keep it fenced in or "something" might happen 😂 ~Sirius

"I just wanted to share some cool leaf mutations. I just love how unique every plant and even very leaf is. Fascinating!!! Keep up the fantastic work y’all!! Be blessed today and always😎"
~Preston I
can't get enough weird plants, especially when the weirdness is pure visual wackiness like this. 📸 ~Sirius "Believe it or not.... This is the first time I've grown anything, and I'm 32! Thoughts?"
~Turtle I think you're doing great so far. Keep up the good work and send us pictures when they're done!

Beware of Floppy Disk Robbery

All of your money can fit on single 3.5" floppy disk

Hopefully Your Bank Has Norton Antivirus (not really) The above clip is from a show no one has seen, "The Simpsons". It seems funny to watch someone commit a robbery with a floppy disk, only because it's implausible now. Don't worry, I'm not going to taint this great clip by drawing a line between it and an actual scam. Instead, just have a laugh and stay safe from scammers, fellow
growers. Make sure to watch out for seed scams! Remember: Real seed businesses don't contact you. They let you contact them. If anyone messages you to sell you seeds on social media, look out! It's possible they will take your payment and send nothing. Always take a second to think before sending money to anyone, especially if they contact
you (whether by DM, text message, phone call, email, etc.). Recommended Cannabis Seed Sources
These sources have gotten great reviews from our readers:
- Seed Supreme – California, United States
- ILGM (I Love Growing Marijuana) – California, United States
- Herbies Seeds – Europe (seemingly out of the UK and Spain)

easy mode...and there's no catch! You can harvest world-class weed from an autoflowering plant and you won't have to worry about light schedules. Autoflowers don't have the same amount of crazy strains available, but honestly, it isn't noticeable. These autos, photoperiod plants and autos are indistinguishable from each other. How to Train
Auto-Flowering Plants for Bigger Yields - That's right, autoflowers can be trained! The rules are a little different than when you're training photoperiod plants (because there's less wiggle-room time-wise), but it's doable and totally worth it. Cautious growers can do low stress training for bigger yields, but daring growers can try the stuff in the next article... Can I top an auto-flowering cannabis plant? - So, can you top and auto-flowering cannabis plant? In short, yes. The trick is making sure your plant is healthy and growing vigorously before you even think of topping it. Next make sure your plant has at least 4-5 nodes by the end of week 3. Your plant meet all the requirements and isn't flowering yet? Chop!
