and it shows! Learn how autos became so popular and see if they're right for you!
- Nebula Haze and Sirius Fourside are excited to announce some major updates! We're launching a new online cannabis cultivation course to provide the in-depth guidance you've been asking for. Take our 2-question
survey to share what you'd like to learn, and we'll notify you when enrollment opens very soon!

The Rise of Autoflowering Strains 🌱📈➡👑🌳👑

I'll always remember the phone call after my dad's second failed harvest. He described how beautiful buds started growing but after a few weeks, they mysteriously shriveled up and died. He cursed his 'black thumb' and I remember the next words vividly. My dad said, “Home growers can’t produce good weed. Only professionals can grow the good stuff.” AHHH!!! With years of experience helping home growers, I
knew this couldn't be further from the truth. Even worse, he wouldn't believe me what the problem was. I had seen his closet grow setup. I knew exactly what was happening. His buds kept dying because his cannabis plants were getting exposed to light whenever he opened the closet door. For most cannabis strains (standard or "photoperiod" strains), even small amounts of light during the plant's "night" period can prevent buds from developing properly. But he believed a little
light shouldn't make that big a difference. You know how it is. Dad knows best. I realized what I needed to do so he could keep his pride and still get great results. l sent him some autoflowering seeds, and got Amazon to send him a little growing kit (3-gallon
fabric pots, coco coir, nutrients, and a 100W LED grow light I knew worked great). I wanted to make it so he just couldn’t fail. Two months later, he sent a text with no words. Just a
picture. My dad was frustrated after two failed cannabis grows. Then I sent him autoflowering seeds. Two months later he sent this picture showing he harvested almost 3 ounces of frosty bud from two autoflowering plants. Intro: What's an autoflowering strain? Auto-flowering strains are a unique type of cannabis that automatically start growing buds about 4-5 weeks after germinating, regardless of light cycle. This allows them to go from seed to harvest in just 60-90 days, making them the fastest harvest of any cannabis strain. Unlike
"photoperiod" cannabis strains, autoflowering strains don't need special light/dark cycles to trigger flowering. Photoperiod strains need 12 hours of darkness each day to develop buds, so even a brief flash of light during their night can disrupt them (like you saw with my dad's grow). Autoflowering strains flower automatically due to their unique genetics, which means they develop buds under any light conditions. This gives you much less to worry about. All you need to do is give light,
nutrients, and water. They'll do the rest. Typical photoperiod cannabis strains need long dark nights to grow buds. Auto-flowering cannabis plants grow buds no matter what you do!

How to Help a Rootbound Cannabis Plant
|
|
Rootbound cannabis plants grow slow and then start getting problems if you don’t transplant them into a bigger pot. Have you ever noticed your cannabis plants growing slowly, but you can’t figure out why? If so, ask yourself, do the plant’s roots have enough room to grow? Do roots have access to oxygen? “Rootbound” is a term for a common problem that affects many cannabis growers, especially
those who grow in small hard-sided pots. How does it happen? When a cannabis plant spends too long in the same container, its roots will become rootbound, meaning the roots have filled up all the space inside the pot and start wrapping around themselves. This restricts root growth and causes other problems like yellowing, droopiness, stunted growth, nutrient deficiencies, and reduced yields.
How can I tell if my marijuana plant is rootbound? (see pictures, learn how to transplant, and get tips on what to do to prevent rootbound in the first place!)

"Love your stuff. Wish yall would make a book so I can read it offline." ~Nooners Hey Nooners, This is a frequent request and I know we need to do it 😅 ~Sirius

"Hello I enjoy reading your newsletters every Sunday and I have been receiving them for a while. I even saved them and come back and read them again at times when I need help. but I was
wondering do you have an article about when is a good time to remove leaves during the flowering cycle, maybe you can post one for in future newsletter as my crop is in flowering stage week 4 and it just seems like I have a lot of foliage" ~Charles Hey Charles, "Hello Nebula.. first off...AMAZING and informative web site ! I have learned SO much since subscribing to your newsletter and using the diagnosis parts of the site. Now on to the solacure bulbs. I purchased a set about halfway thru
flowering on my last grow. Because they were a new addition to my lighting arsenal I used them pretty conservatively...They DEF made a difference. [...] Thanks again!" ~Dylster1100 Keep us updated; I'm really interested to know what you all think
as I've been contemplating testing them out. ~Sirius

"Hey Grow Weed Easy I would like to know if this is ready to harvest?"
~Ofentse The single leaves growing out of the cola indicate this plant might be revegging. I also spot a fully mature seed in there. With these two things in mind, I'd suggest harvesting it as soon as possible. ~Sirius "If I'm lucky enough to complete the work that I am doing for over 20 years now Genetically with the marijuana plant my name will be remembered longer than Achilles lol who cares no ego... This year I brought back from the dead a 27 year old cannabis cup winner called skunk number one it is absolutely amazing dense stinky earthy and the best weight I've had in 27 years lol. Next to it I ran 3
seeds from the same feminized batch of white widow crossed with big butt. 2 of them were sativa dominant."
~Johnnyneon I like the red Christmas lights and I wonder, are you doing that for additional red light, for style, or both? Either way, as Nebula put it, "Whatever he's doing is definitely working". I agree! 🏆
~Sirius Nebula here. Sorry, I've got to add on a comment too. Growers often call long buds a "cola", which means "tail" in spanish. These buds certainly resemble a bunch of enormous tails. Wow! ~Nebula Haze [No description included] Email was titled "Thrip Walk" 🤣 ~Michael Despite the amazing joke, these are actually spider mites. One of the easiest ways to know the difference is the tell-tale webbing. They use it to
traverse the plant faster since they're so small. If you look close enough in the video, you can see their indiviual parts. I feel really bad for this grower, but I appreciate them taking the time to grab this absolutely insane footage. ~Sirius Click the image below to see a high-def version. It's worth it!
The Old "I Slipped and Fell" Scam!
|
|
Poor guy...now his pants are going to be wet!
|
I'm sure there's a joke here...we all scream for ice scam? Sorry... This hilarious video surfaced in 2019 and shows a man in New Jersey attempting to run the ol' "I slipped, fell and hurt my back" scam. He even went to the hospital to get treatment for the horrific injuries you see him incur in the video above. Now here's a good question: What if this place didn't
have a camera installed? It would've been the scammers word against the word of the establishment and he could've walked away with a lot of money for nothing more than being a terrible person. Luckily, this guy was charged with fraud and theft, but he was on the dumber/unluckier side of scammers. This was meant to be a chance to have a little chuckle at a scammer, but remember, successful scammers are 100 times trickier than the Oscar nominee in the gif
above. Make sure to watch out for seed scams! Remember: Real seed businesses don't contact you. They let you contact them. If anyone messages you to sell you seeds on social media, look out! It's possible they will take your payment and send nothing. Always take a second to think before sending money to anyone, especially if they contact
you (whether by DM, text message, phone call, email, etc.). Recommended Cannabis Seed Sources
These sources have gotten great reviews from our readers:

Strains - It's been a long but ultimately successful story for autoflowers. Back in the day, there were far fewer autoflowering strains with such high levels of quality. But in 2023? We get to spoil ourselves with the best of the best autoflowers that are comparable to good photoperiods. How to Train Auto-Flowering Plants for Bigger
Yields - You can already get "Super Autos" which tend to grow much bigger than what we're all used to seeing. However, you can still take those slightly smaller autos and get them to produce fantastic quantities of weed. We'll show you how to do it with just a little bit of training. Nebula’s Auto-Flowering Grow Journal
(Topping vs Natural) - Nebula went through all the (extremely tedious) trouble of doing a very specific grow test: Trained autos vs. untrained autos. The results are cool, surprising, and very relevant if you're thinking about jumping aboard the auto train. Pun definitely intended.
