- There's green in them there hills! Usually
when I say that it's because we have growers filling up actual hills with green weed. Today, the hills themselves seem to be made of green weed because these plants are quite freaking large. I'd say they're large and in charge, but I don't want them getting any ideas about thinking they're the boss...which they are in way if you think about it.

Why Are My Buds Taking Forever to Mature? ⏳🌱⌛➡🌱🤷♀️
|
|
Why is my plant taking so long to mature? Sometimes you’ll run into a situation where the buds of one or more of your cannabis plants don’t appear to be maturing as fast as expected, even
after you’ve been in the flowering stage as long as the breeder has estimated. Why isn’t your marijjuana plant ready to harvest yet, and what can you do about it?
Here are some of the most common reasons your cannabis buds may be taking a long time to mature. Then, I’ll explain exactly what you need to do to speed things along so your buds ripen faster. 1.) "Lazy" strains Some cannabis strains or specific plants take longer than others to finish ripening in the flowering stage, especially Sativa, Haze, and “XXL” strains. However, part of what makes these plants yield so much is the flowering stage takes a lot longer.
Another thing to consider is
that some strains are “lazy” and their buds don’t look ready for a long time, but then suddenly look mature almost overnight. I think of these end-heavy flowering plants as “procrastinators” 🙂 Make sure to keep a close eye on your plant if it’s taking a while because you might be surprised to look one day and realize it’s just about ready to harvest! This bud looks like it’s a long ways from harvest even though it’s been ten weeks in the flowering stage – look at all those white
hairs. Here’s that same bud only seven days later. It has almost completely matured in that time, and it’s also gained significantly in weight. Nearly all the white pistils have darkened and curled in, and the trichomes have turned cloudy. I think of strains that do this last-minute spurt as “procrastinators” 🙂 This impressive growth right before buds are mature is one of the reasons why you don’t want to harvest early; you could be losing out on potency and yields when you only need to wait a few more days! 2.) Breeders "Exaggerate" When looking at the estimated flowering time for a strain (information you
can find with nearly every strain from a trustworthy seed source), remember that most breeders start counting when first flowers appear, not after the switch to 12/12. That makes sense for outdoor growers, but indoor growers should expect to add 1-2+ weeks to the breeder’s listed time for a more accurate estimate. Breeder estimates are often too short.
Do I need supplements to grow great weed?
|
|
Which supplements do you actually need? Which Cannabis Supplements Are Actually Necessary to Grow Great Weed? “This is what puzzles me most, is all the cannabis nutrient companies have a “basic” nutrient line and then they have all the “extra” stuff they want you to give the plant to make big better buds. You can read in forums that growers think the extra stuff rocks and other say
that it sucks. The companies all claim theirs is the best. I have not seen a study that shows bigger buds are more potent or even healthier. I wonder if it is like when you compare an organically grown apple to a non-organic apple. The Non-organic one is bigger and shiner but the taste and texture (the important things) do not compare to the organic one. Are all the “extra” really better or would the plant be happier without them?”
~ BuddMarsh Oooh, this
is a great question! So here’s the thing. You don’t need supplements. Cannabis growers only need base nutrients, and that’s it. You can get all the way to harvest with the most amazing and top-quality buds ever, with even cheap base nutrients and nothing else. However, obviously, it’s more complicated than just that. One thing I’ll say, and when you talk to growers who have tried a lot of different
nutrient lines, you’ll often hear this… Keep reading to learn what supplements work, and what supplements are pure snake oil!

Strain Spotlight: Godfather OG
|
|
Main bud from a Godfather OG plant. Up to 30% THC?! We recently have received some good reports of the new strain Godfather OG from ILGM. It is easy to grow and produces up to 30% THC, especially if you have very strong grow lights and make sure to defoliate and keep the humidity low. Buds are consistently above 25% THC, even if you make mistakes.
Normally it's waaaay too expensive ($109 for 5 seeds?!?!?!), but they're having a deal right now where you get 20 feminized seeds for $149 (ends this morning
so grab it quick!). I just wanted to share for anyone that was looking for a really high-THC strain and happened to see this in time for the sale. Have any of you grown Godfather OG yet? What was your experience? What is the highest THC strain you've grown so far? Hit the reply button and let us know! Check out Godfather OG here.

"At 64 years (almost retired) I'm about 1 wk from drying 2 modest indoor plants. Your website is so well done. I'm starting to prepare my soil again. Thanks much!!" ~Don Glad to hear it, Don. I hope your next harvest is even better! ~Sirius

"Keep up the good work 💪"
~Dušan We're on it! 💪😎 ~Sirius "Hi, Just wanted to say THANK YOU for your great tutorial on how to make cannacaps. I got all the supplies suggested and followed the steps, and they came out GREAT. I doubled the recipe using 11g of flower and came out with 179 caps. I only have to take 1 cap to feel great,
often feeling better than vaping an entire gram of flower! So by making cannacaps, I can now get high 10x more with the same amount of flower! Cha-ching!" ~David
Cha-ching, indeed! Edibles are a good way to make flower feel strong while also stretching out how long it lasts. 🎉 ~Sirius

"Hello Nebula and Sirius, Love your site and the helpful knowledge it shares. I am sharing pictures of this year's experiment, namely two plants that I had indoors over winter (Northeast here), partially harvested and then moved outdoors in spring. Both plants 're-vegged' and it was interesting to observe the process. Shared pics from Jun and then again in August. Currently CBD is in full flower mode, while Maui is much further behind and starting to
flower."
~Rich Today's article touched on re-vegging! Looks like a fun experiment to try out. Doing a reveg just for the heck of it is a luxury afforded mainly to outdoor growers with space to
spare. Enjoy that freedom! ~Sirius "Full reveg mode..."

"Starting to look normal..." "...aaaand back in veg mode!" [No description included] ~Becky Those huge plants are the ones who wrote this and Becky only included her hand to show they haven't kicked her out the house...yet ~Sirius "Greetings friends! I appreciate you’re Sunday reads! And, that course would be great! My only mentors! Two autos, per yer directions, in super soil, 3 wks. to take off. And, a Crescendo photo period, don’t laff, it was 100° with 100° humidity & I was suffering from the heat. ♥️
U’s…….."
~Major Stamen What's there to laugh about? This is a demonstration in great training on plants of different sizes. "Major's Many Marijuana Manifolds" 👨🏫 ~Sirius Okay, maybe this one is a little funny...
"Your Real, Not Fake Bank Is Calling..."
|
|
"This is the only appropriate reaction to bank scam calls."
|
"This is Welles Fargon calling about your monies." Bank scam calls have become so common that literally every bank has to have a page on how to not get scammed out of your money. These days, it's easy for someone to call someone on the other side of the planet and have their name show up as your bank. And since so few banks service so many customers, scammers can guess at your bank and have a good
chance of being right. Luckily, this scam is easy to avoid once you know one simple trick: Never answer a phone call from your bank. If you think your bank needs to talk to you, call them at an official phone number you obtain from their official website. It's also worth noting that iPhone users have the option to "Block calls from
unknown numbers". Although this can block legitimate calls (say, from a doctor's office), they can leave a message can you can call them back. This feature is has insanely helpful for me. Make sure to watch out for seed scams! Remember: Real seed businesses don't contact you. They let you contact them. If anyone messages you to sell you seeds on social media, look out! It's possible they will take your payment and send nothing. Always take a
second to think before sending money to anyone, especially if they contact you (whether by DM, text message, phone call, email, etc.). Recommended Cannabis Seed Sources These sources have gotten great reviews from our readers:
- Seed Supreme – California, United States
- ILGM (I Love Growing Marijuana) – California, United States
- MSNL – Netherlands bank with shipping centers in the US, Canada, and UK.
GrowWeedEasy.com has hundreds and hundreds of pages! Check out some articles you may not have seen... When Are Marijuana Buds Ready to Harvest? - When you're growing cannabis, knowing when to
harvest your plants is absolutely crucial. Your plant will gain a significant portion of its weight and potency within the few weeks surrounding the "harvest window". Harvest at the wrong time and you could lose potential goodies. But if you harvest at the right time, you get maximum strength, maximum yields and maximum happiness! Auto-Flowering Cannabis Strains
Guide - Autoflowering plants sure are great. They get started flowering on their own, they don't mind light leaks, and they tend to finish much faster. What's the downside? Luckily, we live in a time where you can get the pros of autoflowering strains with no cons. What does that mean? It means you definitely need to consider growing an autoflowering strain of cannabis. It's not mandatory you try them but- Oh wait, I just read that that you have to grow an auto...it's the
law! All-Natural Pesticides – Safe Up to Harvest! - You might not be an "All Natural" type of person, but no matter who you are, it's important to use safe stuff when you're treating a flowering plant. The last thing you want is to spray your plant with something that could be dangerous to you if ingested. Luckily, there are many safe solutions made from stuff you know
and even eat sometimes, like peppermint or coriander. That's right, you can kill pests with flavor!
