Want an easier harvest? Here's 3 cheap and helpful harvest tools!
Just kidding, our plants are still friendly! This
is just Audrey II, the man-eating plant from Little Shop of Horrors. She's the coolest non-weed plant of all time.
"You can do it! Feed me, Seymour!" (if you know, you know)
In celebration of Halloween and our new book HARVEST, I wanted to share 3 of my favorite harvest tools.
3 Awesome Tools I Use EVERY Harvest
Boveda humidity packs (easy win) - I personally use the 58% RH Boveda pack (Size
8) in a regular quart jar (about an ounce of weed). Just add a pack with your jars during curing. The ~60% humidity range makes buds cure better, and buds in storage stay at peak quality for longer.
Plant yo-yos (weirdly useful) - Plant yo-yos are a cannabis-specific tool that's perfect for holding up heavy branches. They also make it much easier to air-dry buds in a space and keep them all hanging but not touching each other! Want a plant yo-yo tutorial? Hit reply and let us
know!
Magnifier (see trichomes closely) - These are my 3 favorite methods to look closely at trichome color and determine bud maturity.
A jeweler's loupeis super cheap and makes trichomes easier to see by magnifying them about 10x. Ignore the 60x or 100x claims in listings; in our tests, all jeweler's loupes that cost about $10 magnify about 10x.
A USB microscope (just about any brand) is the best possible way to see trichomes clearly (even takes video). But make sure it's compatible with your phone.
Your Phone (The Free Magnifier) - Use this method. 1.) Add a lot of natural light (crucial) 2.) Zoom in. 3.) Take tons of pictures or a long video 4.) Try different positions but hold phone and bud absolutely still (also crucial) when capturing
pictures. Most pics are blurry but you often catch some clear ones. Let me know if you want a full tutorial using a phone to see trichomes. (I have lots of practice haha).
