Issue #485 - Sunday, August 1, 2021
Dear Fellow Grower,
In today's issue...
- When Nebula and I first started growing, plenty of growers would tell you to pee on your plants to provide them with Nitrogen. Luckily, we never did that, but I'm sure many growers did and wish they hadn't. Don't be like those growers with pee on their plants; learn from others and advance your knowledge!
- Are you tired of seed banks constantly losing payment options? Would you like a consistent way to pay that works every time but still lets you use your card? Get the easy solution today!
- *sheepish* It is taking longer than expected to get the lab results for the Spider Farmer vs Mars Hydro LED grow. I was supposed to get them Friday but there was a delay at the lab. I should have the results Monday with the cannabinoid and terpene results, so I promise to post them in the newsletter next Sunday :)
- When it comes to cannabis plants in the trophy pictures we receive, I love them in all forms. We've got itty-bitty-but-amazing-looking buds and huge colas that you could play baseball with. Honestly, I like them in any form as long as they're pretty, smell good, taste good and/or have good effects. Bring it on!

7 Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me When I First Started Growing Weed
🤔💡👩‍🏫

|
When I first started growing weed, I was completely overwhelmed by all the elaborate tutorials about growing…
Everything seemed so complicated. Maybe you know what that’s like.
But after I started growing for real, I realized how easy things can be when you just know what to do.
Growing weed is easy… especially with these 7 tips!
As time goes on, I’ve realized I worried about a lot of unimportant things in the beginning, and didn’t pay nearly enough attention to the fundamentals.
Back then, I didn’t even know what the fundamentals were!
If you want to learn from my mistakes, you’ll love today’s article, because it breaks down 7 important things I wish I’d known about growing weed when I first started.
1.) More nutrients does not equal more buds
It’s tempting to try to give your plants as much “good stuff” as you possibly can.
When I first started growing I remember the thoughts frantically rushing through my head when choosing nutrients, “Which nutrients are the best? What supplements do I need to use so I get great yields?”
But I’ve realized that as long as you give your cannabis the basic nutrients needed to grow, you really don’t need to know a lot about nutrients. In fact, if you ensure your plants are growing in a perfect environment, you can get incredible results using just base nutrients, without any special supplements whatsoever.
So for a lot of first-time growers, the most important lesson about nutrients might be that LESS IS MORE.
Going overboard with nutrients & supplements will burn leaf tips, not make buds grow faster!
Not sure which nutrients to get? You might want to try....
- Recommended 2-part nutrient system (easiest nutrients I've ever used with excellent results)
- More tips to make your grow go better with fewer problems
- The ultimate secret to growing buds that are dense, potent, pretty, and smell great.

Ever wanted to give it a try?
Have you ever thought about using Bitcoin to get seeds? This process is more secure than using your card and some seed banks will give you significant discounts for ordering this way. I have to admit I was always a little intimidated... until I tried it and realized how easy it is.
That's why I created a tutorial to help anyone else who wants to start saving that dough and make their seed journey more secure.

"My hat's off to you and partner for an excellent web site dedicated to Miss MJ"
~Melinda
My hat's off to you for using the phrase "my hat's off to you". That made my morning. ~Sirius
"My compliments to all responsible for the quality and reliability of information found on your site. I’m a fan of your straight talk."

Well done. You've grown a compact, immaculate plant! 🏆 ~Sirius

"This was my second grow grown under a sp 3000 Mars hydro in a 2x4 vivosun grow tent genaral hydro trio for nutrients still have another autoflower in the tent finishing up which is a growerschoice hindu kush auto about the same size but not topped."
~Nelrabuds
Now that's a chunky plant! Note: When your plant is almost ready to harvest, it's not bad to have yellow leaves. It means you're not giving your plant an excess of nutrients towards the end of its life. ~Sirius
"I'm trying to train my killer a5 haze from ace seeds to fill every inch of my greenhouse.to not waste space I’ve planted autoflowers with it. What’s cool is because of the tarp I’ve only had to
water these plants one time, The greenhouse gets 117 on average everyday. Soil temp always 72. Doesn’t look like much now but I have high hopes! Pretty much all my base grow knowledge has come from your website I can’t thank you guys enough for making the information so easy to find and free!!"
~Alchemist
Wow! The soil stays so cool for how hot it gets. Your plants already look good, and the distance between nodes is good for them being in a greenhouse. Let us know how it turns out! ~Sirius
"Auto Gelato, from ILGM seed, planted 03/14/21, harvest end of June. Grown in last year’s soil and kitchen compost, backyard greenhouse with timed LED lighting and 3 house fans, gave only pond water and Agrothrive Gen Purpose and Flower food."
~Mango Paradise
I absolutely love the plants you've grown. I takes me back to a chunky little plant Nebula grew that had a very similar structure. The strain was called "Cole Train" for anyone curious. ~Sirius

Check out some articles you may not have seen...
- Shortest Cannabis Grow Guide Ever - Okay, I'll be honest...this is probably not the shortest guide ever; I'm sure there's someone who has made a 2 paragraph guide on how to grow weed. But word for word, you'll get way more out of this than many books on the subject.
- How Long Does It Take to Grow Weed Indoors? - This is a good piece of information to know since it can potentially be much or shorter than you expect. The short answer is 3-5 months, but this article will get into the specifics of what to expect.
- 5-Step Solution to 99% of Cannabis Growing Problems - A beautiful thing about troubleshooting is that when it's planned right, the instructions might not need changing for quite a while. This page is a way to troubleshoot plant problems and it still works well even though Nebula wrote it years ago.
- GrowWeedEasy’s Grower’s Glossary - We've added some good terms since initially making the Grower's Glossary, but I can't help but feel like we're missing some. If you can think of a term we should add, reply to the newsletter and let us know!

Sirius Fourside is a hobbyist grower who has gained the bulk of his experience growing in water as a medium (deep water culture, bubbleponics).
"Growing cannabis can be a relaxing hobby in and of itself, but it also saves you money and keeps you from having to deal with shady characters. Cannabis is much easier to grow than people give it credit for, and growing in water doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
